Thank you for your interest in volunteering for HRC Portland’s Gala! This is your opportunity to help the Human Rights Campaign raise money to elect fair-minded officials and fight for the equal rights we all deserve. In recent years, we have welcomed hundreds of supporters and guests to our Gala events.
Gala Set-Up Volunteers
Please read through our volunteer needs and sign up for as many set-up shifts as you’d like. We welcome volunteers to join us for at least one “set-up” shift and one “evening” shift, if possible! – THE GALA DINNER IS HELD SATURDAY, JULY 27, 2013.
Set-up shifts will be responsible for setting up the Event and Silent Auction areas. This is a busy, but casual period where volunteers will be moved from task to task as needed. Volunteers can wear casual clothes and are welcome to sign up for all shifts. Lunch will be provided for volunteers working all-day Saturday. (8-10 Volunteers Needed Per Shift) *Please bring your evening attire with you if you are planning on helping us all day Saturday. Volunteers will be provided a changing area so they can change in-between shifts*
Early Set-Up Shift (Saturday, July 27th, from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm)
Afternoon Set-Up Shift (Saturday, July 27th, from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm)
What To Wear
This is a “garden party chic” event and we encourage volunteers to dress accordingly. During set up, wear casual clothes. For the event, wear what you are comfortable in for a NW garden party. The ground surface is grass, so high-heels might not be the best choice. From casual to dressy, wear whatever you like. Everyone is there to enjoy each other's company. See photos of past events HERE
